cider made simply

To make our cider we only use FRESHLY PRESSED juice from UNSPRAYED fruit

gathered from TRADITIONAL ORCHARDS and LOCAL GARDENS of GLOUCESTERSHIRE.

in search of the flavour of fruit …

… made from freshly pressed unadulterated fruit, almost always wild fermented, made to maximise the natural elements and minimise the artificial and industrial. It’s that …

SIMPLE

CIDER MADE LOCALLY

We use surplus fruit from local gardens to make our cider and we know where all the fruit we use comes from - which farm, which orchard, which garden, even which tree, not least because we pick much of it ourselves. Using surplus local fruit means less waste and lower food miles.

 CIDER made SUSTAINABLY

We only use unsprayed fruit. Unsprayed fruit means no chemicals at all, no pesticides, no insecticides, no herbicides, no fungicides. Just fruit as nature intended, no harm to the environment or to the birds, the bees, the bugs or the plants that make traditional orchards vital, thriving habitats.

CIDER made RESPONSIBLY

Traditional orchards are havens of biodiversity, home to literally hundreds of species of fauna, flora and funga … but they have been in long-term decline for decades. As active members of the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust we work to conserve and celebrate traditional orchards in our home county.

 CIDER DONE SUPPORTIVELY

Bees are essential pollinators of apples and pears - and much else too - and they need our help. We are official supporters of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and we donate to them every year to help them in their work. Perhaps more importantly, the way we make our cider, using only unsprayed fruit from traditional orchards, helps to maintain and protect the biodiverse habitats in which bees thrive. Please consider joining the BBCT or making a donation to them.
