trust juice

in support of traditional orchards

Each year we make a small quantity of Trust Juice, a not-for-profit venture we set up with Martin Hayes and Alison Parfitt. Very sadly, Alison passed away a few years ago, far too young and far too soon, so Trust Juice is now a two-legged stool, wobbly but still standing.

Trust Juice is made in exactly the same way as Humblebee - with freshly pressed apple juice from unsprayed local apples - and the margin we make from sales of Trust Juice is donated to local orchard projects in Gloucestershire. Past recipients include the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust, Creative Sustainability and various community orchard groups.

objectives

  • to use unsprayed apples that might otherwise go to waste

  • to raise funds for organisations and projects that support the county’s traditional orchards

  • to demonstrate that traditional orchards still have some commercial value, in addition to their ecological, cultural, environmental and landscape value

  • to provide ourselves with further excuses to enjoy Gloucestershire’s traditional orchards and spend time in them

Alison passed away in the autumn of 2019, leaving Trust Juice as a two-legged stool. The last time we were together was in an orchard in Uckington, picking fruit. We miss her.
